Roof Replacement

1
How long does a roof replacement actually take?
Most residential roofs in North Georgia are completed in one day. Larger, complex, or steep-pitch roofs may take two. We confirm a realistic timeline at the estimate stage.
2
Can I stay home during the work?
Yes. There's noise overhead and you'll want pets indoors, but you don't need to leave. We protect landscaping and lay tarps to catch debris.
3
Will my insurance pay for a replacement?
If your roof has documented storm damage (hail or wind), most policies cover the replacement minus your deductible. We document the damage and provide what your adjuster needs. We don't guarantee approval — that's the carrier's call — but we'll walk through every step with you.
4
What's the difference between architectural shingles and 3-tab?
Architectural shingles (like GAF Timberline) are thicker, last longer (typically 30–50 years), look better, and handle wind better than older 3-tab shingles. We install architectural as standard.
5
Do you handle the permit?
Yes. We pull the permit with the local building authority and arrange the final inspection.
6
What kind of warranty do I get?
Two layers: (1) a written workmanship warranty from us covering installation, and (2) a manufacturer warranty from GAF on the materials — the duration depends on the system installed and your registration.
1
Should I repair or replace?
It depends on the age of the roof, the extent of the damage, and whether you're seeing one isolated problem or recurring issues. A 7-year-old roof with one bad pipe boot is a repair. A 22-year-old roof with three different leak sources is a replacement waiting to happen. We give you the honest read at the inspection.
2
How fast can you come out for an active leak?
For an active interior leak we try to get there same-day or within 24 hours. We can also tarp temporarily to stop additional water intrusion until a permanent repair.
3
Will a repair void my manufacturer warranty?
A correctly-installed repair using compatible materials will not void a manufacturer warranty. A wrong repair can. That's why GAF-certified work matters even on small jobs.
4
Is the inspection really free?
Yes. No fee, no obligation. If we recommend work, you decide whether to move forward. If we don't recommend any work, you walk away with a roof condition report.
5
Can you help with insurance?
If the damage looks storm-related, we'll document it for an insurance claim and walk you through the process. Not every repair is a claimable event — small wear-and-tear isn't covered — but storm damage often is.

Seamless Gutters & Premium Leaf Guards

1
Do gutter guards really work?
Premium rigid guards work well. Cheap mesh-on-top guards usually don't — they clog from above and water sheets over them in heavy rain. We only install guards we've seen perform in North Georgia conditions.conditions.
2
Will guards end gutter cleaning forever?
No. They drastically reduce maintenance — most homes go from quarterly cleaning to an annual check. Heavy pine needle areas may still need an occasional rinse. We'll set expectations honestly.
3
6" vs 5" gutters — does it matter?
Yes. 6" gutters carry roughly 40% more water than 5" gutters and pair with the larger 3"x4" downspouts. For most North Georgia homes with full storm intensity, 6" is the right call.
4
Can I add gutters to a roof you didn't install?
Absolutely. We install gutters on existing roofs all the time.
5
How long do aluminum seamless gutters last?
With proper slope, hidden hangers, and reasonable maintenance: 20–30 years. The factory finish typically outlasts the structural integrity.
1
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A guest bath refresh: 1.5–2.5 weeks. A full master bath with layout changes: 3–5 weeks. Material lead times can extend the start — we order before demo to minimize idle time.
2
Will I have a bathroom to use during the work?
If we're remodeling the only bathroom, yes — we plan the work to leave a working toilet and sink as long as possible, and we coordinate critical demo days so disruption is minimized. If you have a second bathroom, we work continuously.
3
Do you do tub-to-shower conversions?
Yes — and we do them often. They're popular for both accessibility and aesthetic reasons. Curbless or low-curb showers require proper sloping and waterproofing — we handle both.
4
Do I need permits?
For most plumbing or electrical changes, yes. We pull the permits and arrange inspections. For pure cosmetic updates (tile replacement, vanity swap with no plumbing relocation), often no permit is required. We'll confirm at the estimate.
5
Can I supply my own fixtures?
Yes, with a couple of caveats: we ask that all fixtures be on-site before we start, and we don't warrant manufacturer defects on owner-supplied products (we'll install correctly, but if a faucet arrives broken, we'd need to send it back to the source).

Flooring & Tile Installation

1
Hardwood, engineered, or LVP — which should I pick?
Each has a place. Solid hardwood looks and feels best, costs the most, and handles humidity changes least well — best for living areas above grade. Engineered hardwood gives a real wood look with more dimensional stability. LVP is waterproof, durable, kid-and-pet-friendly, and the most cost-effective — best for kitchens, basements, and high-traffic homes.
2
Can you install over existing tile?
Sometimes. Depends on the substrate, the new product, and the height of doorways. We'll evaluate at the estimate and recommend honestly.
3
How long until I can walk on / move furniture / live normally?
LVP and tile: same day or next day for foot traffic. Tile grout takes 24–48h to fully cure. Hardwood with site-applied finish takes longer — we'll set expectations product-by-product.
4
Do you do bathroom waterproofing?
Yes. Wet areas always get a proper waterproof membrane under tile. We don't install tile directly to plywood or backer board without it — that's how leaks start.
5
Will you move my furniture?
Yes, within reason. Beds, sofas, tables, chairs — we move them. Pianos, gun safes, very fragile antiques — we coordinate with you in advance.
1
How long should an exterior paint job last?
With proper prep and premium paint: 8–12 years on most surfaces, longer on shaded areas. Cheap paint or skipped prep cuts that in half.
2
Vinyl vs. fiber cement — which is better?
Vinyl is cheaper, lower maintenance, and holds color well. Fiber cement (Hardie) lasts longer, looks more like real wood, handles heat better, but costs more. Both work great in Georgia. We help you weigh the trade-offs at the estimate.
3
Can you paint over old paint that's peeling?
Not safely. Peeling paint has to come off — we scrape, sand, and prime before any new paint goes on. Skipping this step is the #1 reason paint jobs fail early.
4
Do you handle HOA approval paperwork?
We can prepare the paperwork (color samples, scope) for you to submit, or coordinate with your HOA contact directly. We won't start work until approval is in writing.
5
Do you spray or roll?
Both, depending on the surface. Open trim and broad walls get sprayed and back-rolled or back-brushed for proper adhesion. Tight detail areas get hand-brushed.
